Reservation

I am looking for a campsite for an overnight stay, is this possible at La Garangeoire?

Our traditional camping pitches (for tents, caravans or motorhomes) and the Bivouac tent pitch can be rented for one night during the entire opening period of the campsite.

Also the Chalet Duo are available are available for overnight stays throughout the season.

Can accommodation only be booked from Saturday to Saturday?

The date of arrival and departure will differ depending on which of your accommodation range you prefer. Note the following:

• For our Budget Range you can arrive and depart on the day of your choice, even in high season! There is a minimum 3 nights stay in August.

• For our Comfort Range it’s possible to arrive any day of the week in low or high season (except Sundays in July and August) with a minimum stay of 7 nights. For the 2 bedroom Safari Lodge, there is a minimum of 3 nights stay during the high season.

• For our Comfort + Range and Premium Range, arrivals and departures take place on either a Monday, Wednesday or Saturday in the high season with a minimum of 7 nights stay. In the low season, it’s possible to arrive any day of the week.

How can I make sure that my booking has been registered?

You will automatically receive an e-mail confirming your booking. If you have not received it, do not hesitate to contact our reception team.

When and how can I pay the balance of my stay?

Payment of the balance has to be paid at least 30 days before arrival and a reminder will be sent by email.

In case of a last-minute booking, the total amount will be asked at the time of booking.

What is a “special request (prefered area)”?

You can specify a “special request” at time of booking. Here you can make a request for side-by-side pitches or choose a particular area.
An additional fee will be charged (40€ for a pitch and 50 € for an accommodation). However, . In the event that your request is not possible, we will inform you and the extra will be cancelled.

Payment methods

Can I pay for my stay with a cheque?

We only accept cheque issued by French bank. Otherwise, payments by bank card (Visa or Mastercard), bank transfer, Ideal are accepted.

Cancellation insurance

What cancellation insurance do we recommend?

We invite you to subscribe separately and simultaneously a cancellation insurance with the insurer of your choice: bank card, travel insurance such as: https: //www.campez-couvert.com/pour-les-particuliers/souscrire/ ).

Please understand that we will not be able to cover mass risks that even insurance companies cannot cover and that the application of these measures is essential to ensure the sustainability of La Garangeoire.

Arrival

What do I do in case of late arrival?

In the event of late arrival or outside our reception opening hours, please notify us in advance by calling +33 2 51 46 65 39. Our night guard will accompany you to your rental/pitch. The next day you simply check in at reception. Please note that access to our pitches/rentals is no longer possible by vehicle after 10:30 p.m.

At what time should we arrive and leave?

For accommodation:

  • Keys are handed over from 5pm and the departures are between 7am and 10am. During the low season you can arrive until 7pm and during July and August until 9pm. Check-in is possible from 2pm.

For traditional camping pitches:

  • Arrivals are from 12 p.m. and departures between 7 a.m. and 12 p.m.

For Premium pitches, Castel Suite (Castel Premium Suite, private sanitary and individual sanitary)and pitches with fridge rental:

  • The pitch is available from 2pm must be vacated by noon on the day of the departure.

On the day of your departure, it is not possible to use the infrastructure after 12 p.m.

I have reserved a pitch and I arrive earlier than the scheduled time. Can I park my motorhome straight away?

Parking of motorhomes or caravans is not possible before the scheduled arrival time and after 12 p.m. upon your departure.

Do I have to pay a deposit on arrival?

To facilitate your arrival, a security deposit will be requested by email 30 days before the start of your stay. You will be asked for a 200 € deposit for the mobile-home/chalet and 100 € deposit for Premium pitches and Castel Suite pitches which includes a guarantee for material breakage and cleanliness of the accommodation on your departure. Swikly, is a highly secure system that allows you to leave a security deposit online, via bank card, without debit or impact on your credit card limit. At the end of your stay, you will get your deposit back, with possible deduction made for the cost of missing/damaged items

Children

Do babies and children count in the total number of persons in an accommodation?

La Garangeoire is a child-friendly campsite !

The capacity of the rented accommodation mentioned on our prices/website includes all the parties even babies and toddlers.

The camping pitch may be occupied by 6 persons maximum (or by parents + children in case of large families).

Good news : throughout the season and for all of our camping pitches, there is no extra fee for babies who are younger than 2 years old.

From what age are children looked after by the kids’ clubs?

Our Kids’club welcomes children from 4 to 12 years old. It is free and opened every morning from 10 am until noon, except Fridays in July and August.

Swimming

Is the pool complex heated?

Our pool complex is heated all-season.

Can I use swimming-pool as a visitor?

Access to the pool complex is free and strictly reserved for guests of the campsite La Garangeoire. All guests must wear their La Garangeoire bracelet to access this area. Your understanding is much obliged.

There is an “Aquasiège” chairlift system installed, that aids access to the largest swimming pool for the disabled.

I am a wheelchair user, can I have access to the swimming pool?

The entire pool complex is wheelchair accessible and there is an “Aquasiège” chairlift system installed, that aids access to the largest swimming pool for the disabled.

Is wearing Bermuda short tolerated in the swimming-pool?

Wearing bermuda shorts is tolerated provided they contain no metal accessories and are only used in the swimming pool.

The use of inflatable air beds and other pool floats is forbidden but allowed in the lagoon.

Can I take my swimming inflatables to the swimming pools?

Inflatables of any kind are prohibited in all the swimming pools but welcomed in the lagoon. Ball games are also prohibited in the swimming pools but permitted in the lagoon.

Is it possible to reserve a sun-lounger in the pool complex?

It is strictly forbidden to reserve loungers by placing towels on them. Any towels or personal items left on a lounger in the absence of its owner will be removed and put aside.

Pets

Are pets allowed on the campsite?

Pets are allowed in all of our accommodation except in La Grande Cabane the Safari Lodge Premium and the mobile home Riviera. There is an daily extra fee which has to be paid at the time of booking. Pets must be tattooed or microchipped, vaccinated and kept on a leash. On arrival there is a special welcome kit awaiting them at reception.

Since 2021, Castel Camping La Garangeoire is a member of Club Oscar and has partnership with  Emmenetonchien, which missions are to include as best as possible our pets in all of trips and our holiday break.

Accommodation and pitches

Do mobile-homes have a television?

Classic Chalet TV , Country Lodge Chalets as well as the mobile home Life are equipped with a television.

Do mobile-homes have a dishwasher ?

The Country Lodge Chalets , Taos Premium as well as the Cordelia mobile-home and Cordelia Family mobile-home are equipped with a dishwasher.

Do mobile-homes have a washing-machine ?

Only our mobile home Océania XXL has a washing-machine. Yet, each of our sanitary block are all equipped with washing-machines and tumble dryers. To use them, simply purchase the tokens from the campsite grocery shop.

Are the blankets supplied in mobile-homes ?

Blankets and pillows are provided in all of our accommodation. Sheet packs (12€/bed) as well as towel packs (15€ per pack) can be provided at an additional cost. Premium Safari Lodges include sheets and towels. Taos Premium comes with the following hotel services: beds already made on arrival, supply of towels, bathmats and tea towels.

Are mobile-homes equipped with air-conditioning?

According our environmental commitments, our accommodation are not equipped with air-con. Yet, there is a small fan in each of our accommodation.

Do the campsites offer disabled access?

We provide a guaranteed accessible accommodation for wheelchair users: the mobile home Life is equipped with a ramp for wheelchair access and is specifically designed for ease of use by those of reduced mobility.

  • Large room available, large sliding door and 2 separate high beds
  • Bedroom with 1 bed (90 x 190 cm) and bunk transverse (70 x 190 cm)
  • Ergonomic specially equipped kitchen
  • Bathroom with shower and WC adjusted with integrated handrails
  • Large terrace with ramp for wheelchair access

Two chalets located in close proximity to Reception and all necessary services have level flooring and are particularly adapted for those of limited mobility. Three wash blocks (toilets, showers, washbasins) have cubicles provided for persons of limited mobility. These are located at the swimming pool, in the restaurant, beside reception and in the main caravan and tents camping block.

Is it possible to rent baby equipment?

High chairs and cots can be hired on booking for the duration of your holiday  (Baby cot : 15€ per stay, high chair: 10€ per stay). These items can be added without extra cost for every booking of one of our TAOS PREMIUM mobile-homes.

Our Tempo Chalet enables you to travel light thanks to its FAMILY PACK already included in the price. The package comes with: a stroller, a baby bathtub, a baby cot (60*120) with mattress, a high chair, a baby potty, a bottle warmer, a changing mat and a baby bed rail.
Lending of changing mats is possible with a 20€ deposit.

All sanitary blocks are equipped with changing tables and baths.High chairs are available at the bar and restaurant and child seats are available for bikes. Hire at bike rental.

Is the cleaning at the end of my stay already included in my booking?

Cleaning is not included in the price. Except if you have paid for the optional “end of stay cleaning” at the time of booking. COCOSWEET, Tent Tribu and Duo, 40€, accommodation with 1 bathroom 70€, accommodation with 2 bathrooms 90€, Cordelia Family 140€. If you take out our cleaning option, the dishes must be washed, dried and ordered, bins emptied, the fridge cleaned and emptied, barbecue cleaned and bed protections removed.

Do you offer pitches with their own sanitary facilities?

To guarantee well-being and comfort, our Castels  Suite range offers pitches with sanitary cabins and equipment on-site: Individual sanitary pitch, Private sanitary pitch and Castels Suite Premium pitch. This year, discover our new “Castel Premium Suite” pitches each with their very own private sanitary unit comprising of a bathroom and kitchen. More information about these pitches :Camping Pitches.

What type of electric sockets are there?

Our pitches are equipped with EU sockets (16 Amp). To use them, you need to have an adaptor (P17 plug, CEE male). In addition, given the size of the pitches, it is advisable to bring an extension cable. If you forget, you can borrow an adapter or extension cable from reception in exchange for a deposit of €20.

Can I bring my own barbecue?

By prefectural order, due to the presence of a nearby forest, the use of electric or charcoal barbecues is forbidden. Only gas barbecues are allowed. Gas barbecues Weber Traveler are available for rent at the reception (20€/day).

Our chalets and mobile-homes are all equipped with a gas barbecue WEBER or plancha/grill without extra charge.

Is a refrigerator available for rent?

It is possible to hire refrigerators of 90 litres (limited availability) at a price of 12€/day between July 20 and August 20.

Outside of these dates, we recommend that you book one of our Premium pitches, which include a refrigerator on site.

Is furniture rental (table and chairs) possible?

No furniture rental is possible. We recommend that you book one of our fully equipped pitches for travelling light!

Can I park my car on my pitch ?

One vehicle can be parked on the pitch, next to the accommodation. Additional vehicles must be parked in the parking area opposite the reception and an extra fee has to be paid. Note: If you have booked a Safari Lodge Premiuim there is a specially designated carpark for your vehicles adjacent to the area where your lodge is located.

Various topics

Is WI-FI available anywhere onsite?

We have chosen from the beginning not to have WIFI in every corner of the site but to limit it to the public areas only (bars, restaurant, playground…). Only Taos Premium have a high-speed internet connection.

We decided to make the choice of disconnection to help you in reconnecting with your loved ones and the surrounding nature.

If unfortunately, it is not possible for you to disconnect from work completely during your holiday, a dedicated internet connection, desk, computer, printer and scanner are available in a private and quiet workspace located near reception.

Is it possible to add a tent or marquee next to my accommodation?

No, it is not possible to add a tent or a barnum next to your accommodation. Extra tents are possible on the camping pitches.

People outside of the campsite want to join us, what do they have to do?

If you wish to receive visitors, please inform the reception and pay the fee accordingly. They do not have access to swimming-pools in accordance with French regulations but can go to the lagoon.

Is the campsite accessible anytime?

Access to the campsite is closed for vehicles from 10.30pm to 7am. Vehicles arriving after 10.30pm must be parked in the outer parking area. Campsite can only be accessed by our customers’ registered vehicles.  Vehicles are identified by a specific sticker.

How to find the map of the campsite?

You can find out the map of the campsite from the home page of our website in the ” downloads ” section, or in our digital welcome booklet Cool’nCamp. A paper version of the map is also availabe at reception at your disposal.

I would like to organize a group gathering, do you receive groups?

If you are in charge of organizing a trip away for an association, a group of friends or a family reunion, we are at your disposition to deal with your specific demands: we can provide accommodation, conference rooms or receptions, meals and activities (sport tournaments, karaoke, dancing, live music…).

Our chalets and mobile homes are set on large plots, defined in different district which enable families or friends

Is swimming in the onsite-ponds authorized?

Swimming in the private ponds is forbidden. In July and August, swimming in the Apremont Lake is authorized and supervised.

Can I use my own boat or stand-up paddle board on the onsite lake?

We do not authorize foreign boats or foreign paddle but you can enjoy the main lake of La Garangeoire with a canoe, pedal boat or rowing boat (free of charge activity against a refundable deposit).

It is possible to use your own boat or paddle board on the Jaunay lake.

Are there cycle paths from the campsite?

From the campsite, there is no direct access to cycle tracks.  The nearest cycle path is 5 km away through a main road which can be risky for young children. New : a cycle route is going to link Saint-Julien-des-Landes and the coast (Brétignolles-sur-mer and Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie).

Can I still continue composting during my holiday?

To compost and to camp…it’s easy ! For all campers interested, a «compost bucket» is available at reception(deposit of 5€) and also a compost area.

Do you offer charging stations for electric vehicles?

There are six charging station operating 24 hours a day in front of reception when the campsite is open. This charging station allows you, 24 Hours a day, accelerated recharging (around 4 hours) from type 2 sockets, at a cost of € 10 per charge (tariff season 2023). The other 4 operate via the IZIVIA EDF application with a power of 22 kW. Find out more at: IZIVIA EDF electrical terminals

For safety reasons of the electrical installations, it is strictly forbidden to plug your vehicle on the standard sockets of the pitches and mobile homes.

How far is La Garangeoire from the Atlantic ocean?

The nearest beaches to La Garangeoire are  Bretignolles-sur-Mer approx 15kms away. In July and August, a shuttle service to Les Sables d’Olonne or Brétignolles-sur-Mer is available once a week (information at reception).

Can I pay my balance on the La Garangeoire website?

Your customer account is accessible at any time via our website. You can simply view and pay your balance! You will also find all the information relating to your stay there.

How can I keep up to date with La Garangeoire camping news?

To manage your holiday from the beginning to the end of your stay, we have prepared a digital welcome booklet available on the Cool’nCamp application. This booklet will be your essential guide to accompany you for the duration of your stay.

Are all services open in low and mid season?

All our services are available from the opening until the closing of the campsite 6 May 2024 to 15 September 2024.

How far is the Puy du Fou park ?

The Puy du Fou is 92 km from the campsite of La Garangeoire, about one-hour drive.

Cashless payment system

Can I pay in cash at the campsite?

With our Cashless payment system it is no longer possible to pay in cash on the campsite (unless your recharging your bracelet credit at reception). However, bank cards will still be accepted at all our points of sale.

What is my Cashless bracelet for?

This is a completely electronic means of payment; the Cashless bracelet will simplify your stay with us! It allows you to pay for all your purchases, without having to carry your wallet. The bracelet also doubles as an identification bracelet giving you access to the pool complex. Find out more about our Cashless payment system.

How do I recover my bracelet balance at the end of my stay?

At the end of your stay, you can recover your bracelet balance only by bank transfer from your Cashless account. It is important to note that no money will be given to you in cash.
